Greenhouse & Junior Master Gardeners

You are invited to join the Junior Master Gardener Club! Open to 7th and 8th grade students, the club meets in the greenhouse (Room 116) on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, 2:35–4:15 PM.

Club members grow vegetables, flowers, and houseplants; set up a composting bin; explore soils; create fresh and dried floral arrangements; check out garden wildlife; and compete in state competitions.

Members become Certified Junior Master Gardeners after completing a 10-week course and 10 hours of volunteer work, and receive certificates and pins from Michigan State University. The cost of materials and the manual is $20.00 — please send cash or a check along with the permission slip, available in the office.
